  Book and Journal Publishing

   Start here:
  • Amazon.com
Similar to Books in Print, you may search here for publications available for purchase. Amazon also includes out-of-print titles from independent sellers.
  • Books in Print Authentication Required
Lists books available for purchase; includes publishers in Canada, but not other countries. SCSU does not necessarily own books listed in this database.
  • Cabell's Directory of Publishing Opportunities Authentication Required
Each Directory helps professors, researchers, and students select journals that are most likely to publish a manuscript. The index in each Directory helps match the characteristics of a manuscript to the topic areas the journal emphasizes, the type of review process, acceptance rate and number of external reviewers. Separate directories are available for Accounting, Economics and Finance, Management, Marketing, Educational Curriculum and Methods, Educational Psychology and Administration, and Psychology.
  • Eigenfactor.org
Eigenfactor ranks scholarly journals in the natural and social sciences (and also newsprint, PhD theses, and popular magazines) using citation data and journal price.
  • Scopus (SciVerse) Analytics
Use the Journal Analyzer to compare up to 10 journals on a variety of parameters: total number of citations, documents, and percentage of articles not cited.
  • Ulrich's Periodical Directory
Bibliographic and publisher information on more than 300,000 periodicals of all types--popular, trade, and academic--as well as newspapers, newsletters, and open access online publications.
Try these also:
  • AddALL
Book search and price comparison tool.
  • Alibris
Shop millions of new, used, out-of-print, foreign language, and collectible titles from our worldwide network of independent sellers.
  • FetchBook
Links to numerous new and used books available online. Includes Amazon.com, half.com, abe.com, and others.
  • Google Book Search
Allows searching within full-text of digitized books and viewing of small portions of copyrighted material or full versions of public domain items. Includes links to booksellers and libraries.
  • St. Cloud State University Faculty/Staff Publications
Under "Other," find bibliographies of SCSU faculty and staff publications, conference presentations, etc. The list includes links to FindIt! for full-text when available. Citations can be searched, formatted in a variety of citation styles, printed, or downloaded.
